UNIMELB WITHHOLD-OUTS
We are a collective of PhD candidates and staff accomplices at the University of Melbourne. Our work is grounded in respect for Indigenous sovereignty and our obligations to resist, wherever we can, the use of research to legitimise and enable genocide.
Together, we develop collective strategies of refusal and withholding to pressure the University of Melbourne to reckon with its own compositions of violence, including its ties to weapons manufacturers responsible for death and destruction in Palestine, and to universities that uphold Israeli apartheid.
In this moment of intensifying genocidal violence, we follow the calls of our academic colleagues in Palestine to join the global academic boycott movement.
We stand on sovereign Aboriginal Land in principled solidarity with anticolonial resistance movements around the world.
Working on unceded Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
